NANCY WESTCOTT
Research Climatologist

Nancy Westcott has worked at ISWS since 1977. Her research has primarily centered on the use of radar to estimate rainfall, studies of fog, and various applied climate topics such as weather impacts on crop yields,  quality control of historic weather data, impact of heat waves on natural resources, prediction of West Nile Virus outbreaks, and impacts of urban areas and cloud seeding on weather. She has managed the Cook County Precipitation Network since 1995.
