Another Cool Week
The second week of July was cooler than normal across the Midwest, with a similar pattern to that from the first ten days, only cooler by a few degrees. Rainfall totals ranged widely during the week with several areas receiving almost no rain, to areas with more than twice their normal rainfall for the week. Crop conditions are rated at Good or Excellent for at least 60% of both corn and soybeans in all nine Midwest states. It was also a relatively quiet week for severe weather.
